portionとpartの違い

portionの意味は

「部分、一部、分け前」

です。

partの意味は

「部分、部品、役割、地方、引き離す、分ける、別れる」

です。

“What is the most difficult part of this plan ?”
「この計画の最も難しい部分はなんですか？」

portionとpartの違いですが

portionは、全体と区分された部分(割り当て、分け前など)のことです。
partは、全体の一部としての部分です。

He bought a portion of the land.
彼は土地の一部を購入した(土地全体の一部を購入した)。

He bought a part of the land.
彼は土地の(彼のものとして割り当てられた)一部を購入した(他の土地は他の人に割り当てられたことがほのめかされている)。
